Certification maintenance
After You’re Certified…
Your company will be required to undergo two (2) annual Surveillance audits. At the end of the three-year period, your company will have the opportunity to renew your contract with the Certification Body (CB) that you chose… or continue with a different CB.
AS A MEMBER OF YOUR TEAM WE…
Track Your Upcoming Audits
- Monitor the date of your next external audit; and schedule your internal audit(s), and management reviews so that you’re always prepared.
Perform your Annual Internal Audit
- Plan and Perform the required Internal Audit prior to your next annual external audit,

Host Your Annual Management Review
- Host your annual “Management Review” meeting; ensuring that all of the required topics are covered (after completing your Internal Audit), and

Coordinate and plan each certification audit with the CB
- Ensure that all company affected personnel are informed of the “Audit Plan” and can accommodate the “Audit Schedule” (e.g., no conflicts exist such as Trade Shows, Customer Visits, Vacations), and
- Assist the CB Auditor with logistics (e.g., transportation, hotel, lunches).
Host the CERTIFICATION Audit
- Act as the designated official “Guide” for the Auditor(s) by:
- Introducing the Auditor(s) to the staff that they will need to interview,
- Assisting the external Auditor(s) in locating the required documentation and records, and
- Clarifying any misunderstandings that arise during the audit.
Address to any issues identified during the Audit
- Respond to any Nonconformities through the Corrective Action process within the required time-frame (typically due within 21 days from the last day of the audit).
- Track the status of the Corrective Action to ensure that it is closed within a timely fashion.
Ensure that the next Certification Audit is Scheduled
- Ensuring that any existing, known conflicts (e.g., Trade Shows, Customer Visits, Vacations) are avoided.
Monitor any changes/revisions to the standard or CB requirements
- Ensure that any changes to the applicable Standard(s) and/or any changes in requirements from the quality assurance certification are communicated to the affected personnel and incorporated into your Management System.
